Event Manager

 

The Role 

​

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a range of event projects of diverse scale and format. You will have ownership and responsibility for the complete life cycle of any events under your jurisdiction and will support other members of the team on additional projects. This will be for our own ’73 Original’ events and managed events for our growing client base.

​

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be pivotal in coordinating all moving parts, ensuring timelines are met, quality of execution is second to none and that clear communication exists between all stakeholders.

​

This role is remote based, with occasional travel in to central London or to our Tunbridge Wells head office.

Key duties include 

​

• Project management – creating timelines that identify the key milestones across all functions, are agreed and understood between all parties and then met as the event planning progresses

• Client point-of-contact – for events under your control you will be the day-to-day liaison with external and internal stakeholders

• Contributor liaison – managing speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and any other external contributor to events

• Reporting – producing accurate and detailed reports on progress for internal and external use during the planning, execution and evaluation stages of an event lifecycle

• Supplier negotiation, appointment and management

• Budget management

• Onsite delivery – oversee the onsite team and ensure all parties are briefed sufficiently and allocated appropriately

• Contribute to the wider business strategy with your own ideas for prospective events or different ways of doing things

• Potential for day-to-day management of an additional team member

About you
 

• Team player – for us, team fit is more important than your CV. We are a small team of experienced event professionals who know how to work hard yet support one another and have some fun along the way

• Self-starter – you should be completely comfortable and capable of managing your own time and driven to ensure your projects hit their key milestones whilst at all times maintaining the highest standards

• Effective communicator – the role is remote based and will continue to be post-pandemic, so effective communication with internal team members and external stakeholders is critical

• Meticulous – your attention to detail and love of spreadsheets should be second to none. We pride ourselves on quality of execution therefore no stone must be left unturned

• Adaptable – a key contributor to our success is our ability to move quickly and respond to opportunities

• Experience – we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and has a clear understanding of the pressures and excitement an event manager role holds – therefore a minimum of 3 years event management experience is ideal

• Flexible – occasional evening and weekend work is required as and when the event demands it
